About Myrtle
A cultural travel company and publishing platform offering deeply informed, beautifully considered travel.
The idea
Intellectual depth.
An eye for beauty.
Myrtle is rooted in an old idea of cultivation: that a rich life is built through books, conversation, place, experience and an enduring curiosity about the world. We travel to encounter that world. Understanding what we encounter takes context: the histories, landscapes, institutions and ideas that give a place its character.
Our sensibility draws on the rhythms of the English countryside and the New England coast: houses filled with books, summers by the water, gardens, horses, long dinners and traditions accumulated over time. Our outlook is outward-facing, carrying that same curiosity beyond the familiar.
Myrtle approaches travel as a form of intellectual formation. Through history, geography, politics, law, literature, culture and the natural world, we help travellers connect what they see with the forces that shaped it.
Intellectual depth and context come first. Exceptional taste and curation shape the experience, with an eye for beauty in places, art and everyday life. Luxury is the standard of execution: the care, comfort and attention to detail that allow you to engage fully with a place.

Our mission
To enrich travel through intellectual depth, cultural curiosity and beauty.
We bring ideas into contact with places, combining serious reading and direct experience with discerning curation. Myrtle values both a home to return to and a world worth leaving it for. To be at home in the world requires both roots and curiosity. The result is travel that engages the mind, delights the senses and is beautifully considered throughout.

The founder
Georgie Anne Bickerton
Myrtle was founded from a lifelong curiosity about why places are the way they are. While studying law, Georgie was drawn particularly to the intersection of history, geography, politics, culture and travel.
Myrtle grew from the conviction that a journey becomes richer when we understand the forces that shaped the place before us — its history, institutions, landscape, literature and people.
Inspired by the Regency tradition of travel as part of one’s education, and drawing on her lifelong passion for global exploration, Georgie created Myrtle to reimagine that idea for the present: bringing together thoughtful travel, serious reading, cultural curiosity and direct experience.
